Turks and Caicos overview
By Peggy from Classic Custom Vacations!
OK, I fell in love with Turks and Caicos! The most amazing beaches I have ever seen in my 15+ years in this business. The turquoise ocean waters and sugary white powdery sand took my breath away! And the resorts in the Classic product line are all so very different and offer a varied choice for any type of client you may have. All resorts offer complimentary non motorized water sports with their rate ¼and they all are really focused on service! . I now understand why Classic is the number one wholesaler to the islands of Turks and Caicos ¼we have the best resorts and the relationships to back up the Classic service you expect for your clients!
Beaches Resort ~ Be sure to focus on the higher room categories here, especially the ones that offer butler service. The lower categories are more suited for a moderate family vacation. Overall, the resort is a perfect option for parents traveling with children; they really do not miss a trick in terms of dining options, entertainment, children’s facilities, and tours and activities that would really make any young family enjoy their Caribbean vacation. The big news here is that they have broken ground on a new all-suite Italian Village section set to open in November of 2007. Expected to be the largest water park in the Caribbean!
Amanyara ~ Everyone has been dying to hear about Aman Hotel’s first Caribbean venture. The resort is stunning in terms of its Asian architecture and serene atmosphere. The public areas are contemporary and hand crafted. The long wooden table in the lobby took 80 men to carry and is imported from Indonesia. The suites have glass walls with electronic retractable shades. Everything is state of the art, and very minimalist in design. The Spa is still under construction but will be as spectacular as the rest of the property in early 2007. One but very important issue with this resort is that the 30 minute drive to this isolated end of the island is on a very bumpy road that needs repair. Be sure to advise your clients of this because no one like surprises; however, the treat at the end of the road is one they will never forget!
Point Grace is a real gem and one of my favorite resorts. Dark hardwood floors and expensive colonial furnishings reminded me of a Hemmingway inspired retreat. Very high end, lovely, and so many unusual details from art work in the hallways, pristine landscaping and outdoor treatment rooms in their Thalasso Spa overlooking grassy dunes leading to the ocean. Dinner at Grace’s cottage is a must do for anyone visiting Providenciales ¼it is considered one of the best restaurants in the entire Caribbean.
Shhhhh ¼Here’s a tip, the Presidential Suite that sleeps only two was recently released back into inventory over the Christmas holiday period ¼for approx 6K per night, your clients could enjoy an 8 room apartment with a private message room, full kitchen, laundry room, dining room, study, office, living room and triple balcony area. A full staff is optional for what could be a vacation of a lifetime!
The Palms just opened in 2005 and is one of the most elegant and opulent resorts I have ever visited. This all suite condo style property reminded me of a grand “Ritz-style” property with details such as gleaming marble, ceramic tile, stainless kitchens with granite countertops, triple crown molding, extensive artwork collection throughout, beautiful furnishings and so much more. Again, WOW!
Grace Bay Club is a dazzling five star modern and contemporary resort with the most energetic team waiting to take care of your very special clients I have ever encountered! The outdoor lounge featured on pg 71 of our NEW 2007 Caribbean brochure depicts their really cool ultra sleek outdoor lounge space. Always included in Grace Bays price is bottled water, fruit and sorbet service on the beach. They have added a children’s program, but don’t worry, the adults will not be affected by this. The hotel really focuses on their guests preferences, and they have an entire staff waiting to meet your clients’ needs and desires. If you book a client to Grace Bay Club, be sure to go on their web site and fill out “A Guest’s Preferences Sheet.” Anything from special foods, activities ¼even right down to the brand of toothpaste will be tended to. P.S. they even have professionally trained butlers too!
Parrot Cay ~ oh my goodness ¼where do I begin? A spectacular 30 minute boat ride brings you to this private island retreat. And if your totally star struck like me, celebs like Matt Lauer, Donna Karin, Keith Richards and Bruce Willis have made this their playground ¼.remember that first photo of Bennifer ¼.taken here from almost a mile off shore thru zoom lenses. This deluxe property with light hardwood floors, white bedding, draperies and furnishings make you feel like you’re in a breezy beachy but very luxurious setting. 500 count sheets, plasma TV’s, IPOD docs and speakers, wireless service throughout, plunge pools are just the tip of the iceberg ¼an infinity pool and outstanding food and beverage service and so much more are waiting for your clients on Parrot Cay!
The Sands at Grace Bay is a really sweet condo style property with wonderful attention to detail and lots of extras! The resort has studios through three bedroom units with full kitchens and screened in balconies. They are tastefully decorated and feel really crisp and clean. This is a very moderately priced resort, with a great beachfront restaurant. The staff really is focused on service and will take very good care of your clients ¼a real nice affordable alternative for the right clients!
The Reef Residence on Grace Bay is a new wing to the hotel that was formally known as Coral Gardens. This is a nicely appointed condo resort with fantastic patios with waterfalls and sliders that will give your clients a true feeling of indoor outdoor living in the Caribbean. Complimentary breakfast daily is included in the rate ¼just be sure to know that the Reef Residence wing is not directly on the beach ¼the guests must walk down a pathway over to the Coral Garden section a beautiful beach. Consider this property for your moderate clients who want condo facilities and spectacular service!
Air service from Boston is thru JFK or MIA, a very easy journey. This is one of the hottest destinations right now, and so many hotels will be popping up along the island in the upcoming years. Classic is known as the premier wholesaler to Turks ¼we have the right customers and the right agents selling this destination properly. Please call Classic today and offer any of our spectacular hotels to your clients, they’ll love you for it!
